This lesson is a bit of fun, but there are some underlying lessons to be learnt about ourselves from what we create. All will eventually be revealed when you finish these two pages and learn more about yourself.
Pieces of Me is a traditional Book of Me type layout where you have a photograph of yourself and either directly on the page or on separate pieces of paper/cardstock you write (with pen, stamps or stickers) all of the roles you have that make up the puzzle that is you. These are not personality traits or affirmations like we did back in lesson five, they are your roles. Examples are: Mum, Businesswoman, Aunt, Daughter, Wife. Be honest with this one and try to explore deeper for all of the the pieces of you. Anyway have fun with this one and it is a good opportunity to take another photograph of yourself this week to use on this page.
The second page is also a fun one with the focus being a photograph you take of your dresser and then explaining in a manner that you choose what each item is, why it is there and what that means.
Some of the things on my dresser are: a broken crystal ring holder that belonged to my Grandmother (more precious than gold), one of Quentins Army Corp badges, a photograph of my Grandmother, a framed photograph of Quentin and I, my jewellery box from my childhood (as tattered as it is), some assorted pieces of miss-matched crystal that I have inherited and been given over the years, several small jewel boxes in a pile containing items such as Miltons pocket-watch, my late Fathers cuff-links and rosary beads, jewellery I inherited from my other Grandmother and Quentins badges of merit and award from the Army. All of these things are precious and yes there is more on there including crochet doilies and some odd items that are more meaningful that I can describe here.
Anyway you get the picture and hopefully your journey with this page will bring back memories and unearth some stories that really must be told and documented. Remember if you don’t leave these stories for your family, they may never know why you kept that dodgy piece of broken crystal.
Tips and Hints for completing your book:
* Keep collecting/copying every photograph with you in it
* Don’t have any or many photographs of yourself….Take some! Take lots!
* Get a notebook or cheap exercise book and write down anything about yourself as it comes to you

* This is a good opportunity to use up your stash
* You could use your favourite colour scheme
* Try something different on every page
* Experiment on every page
* Use your own handwriting
