Book of Me 1: pages 18 & 19

Celebrations (pages 18 & 19)

**This is a double page layout**

You must include journaling and at least one photograph on each page, although the more you include the better.

This week we look at celebrations throughout our life that are momentous, memorable, have become traditions or we just have something we want to say about them.

This is a broad topic that allows you a lot of flexibility to journal with detail or to journal in general. You could write a general paragraph (or three) about what celebrations were like when you were growing-up and how you translated this into the celebrations in your adult life. Don’t forget to include as many photographs as you have or can fit and if you don’t have many don’t forget to make a note of this in your journaling. You could reflect on the changes between how we used to celebrate events and how we celebrate them now.

Suggestions on Celebrations to include:
The firsts in your life (ie Christmas, Easter, Birthdays)
The firsts in your childrens and/or grandchildrens lives
Your Wedding, Engagement or even Divorce if that is significant to you (yes it is a celebration for some)
Significant celebrations from your childhood that you remember
Traditions in your family that are based on celebrations
The lack of celebrations when you were growing up
If you dreamed of different celebrations when you were growing-up
Any celebrations that are specific to your nationality, family or religion

Journaling Help
Include information as facts and lists when that is all you have. You can always rely on a list to convey to the point no frills information.

Tips and Hints for completing your book:
* Keep collecting/copying every photograph with you in it
* Don’t have any or many photographs of yourself….Take some! Take lots!
* Get a notebook or cheap exercise book and write down anything about yourself as it comes to you
* Use stuff you love (scrapbooking supplies)
* This is a good opportunity to use up your stash
* You could use your favourite colour scheme
* Try something different on every page
* Experiment on every page
* Use your own handwriting
* Scraplift if all if you want
* Be honest
* Use your own style of scrapbooking or try something a bit different
* Do the pages as simple or as elaborate as you choose
* Use hidden journaling to conceal sensitive or personal information

REMEMBER this is your book about yourself and that means you get to do it how you want!
